Kitchen Wars: Kokkari
Our Kitchen Wars classes are an expanded version of our popular Cook The Book series where we celebrate notable restaurants through their cookbooks, while introducing some friendly competition.
Classes have the same instructional, hands-on format of our other classes but with some added heat in the kitchen. Students are divided into two kitchens, where each team will prepare the same menu. Your instructors will guide your class to get dishes out on time, looking beautiful, and tasting great. The kitchens go head to head when we sit down together for dinner and ultimately vote on your favorites.
Prepare a Menu of Signature Dishes from Kokkari: Contemporary Greek Flavors
When you say “Greek food” in San Francisco, Kokkari immediately comes to mind. Join us as we prepare a menu full of the restaurant’s signature dishes, exploring what it takes to make some classic Greek food.
You’ll learn about the Greek pantry, and it’s Bay Area influences at Kokkari, by cooking with ingredients such as phyllo, feta, lamb, yogurt, and lemon, even preparing homemade pita. We’ll teach you about prep and plating, breaking each one down into approachable steps so you can continue to create Kokkari’s fabulous food in your own home kitchen.
Menu: Homemade Pita Bread with Spicy Feta & Pepper Spread, Cucumber Yogurt Spread and Lentil Spread, Zucchini Cakes with Mint-Yogurt Sauce, Egg-Lemon Soup with Chicken and Rice, Spiced Ground Lamb Skewers, Creten Rice Pilaf, Roasted Green Beans with Feta and Dill, and Baklava
