Join us for our one-day workshop on how to make toast.
From demystifying the “Wonder” of sliced bread to exploring a variety of techniques ranging from light to dark to extra dark, you’ll learn how to transform your favorite loaf to a crispy golden state here at the best cooking school in the Golden Gate.
You will repeat the process several times during your class, so we can ensure you leave armed to make the best toast possible at home.
This class will also include a butter tasting, including the “margarinal” variety, plus a butter that you simply can’t believe.
We’ll cover plating and selecting the proper dishware to make your toast be the toast of the town, so you don’t get toasted.
By the time you leave this class, you will have a thorough understanding of the Maillard reaction, using fire, common kitchen appliances, and modern techniques to transform bread into the wonder we call "toast".
MENU: Some of the dishes your class will prepare are Wonder Toast with Butter, Extra-Dark Orowheat Toast with Extra Butter, Extra-Extra-Dark Boudin Toast, served dry, and the Milquetoast as demonstrated by the Hollywood executives who chose to re-boot Spiderman again instead of telling an original story.
This is an immersive, hands-on cooking class. You will be on your feet cooking most of the time so please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
